I am super excited to be accepted into the 200 hour yoga teacher training at Homegrown Yoga. I have been a part of this community since the studio opened in January 2016. I love the Homegrown family and I am excited to grow in my practice!!
I will sharing my journey as I grow from an awkward yogi into a yoga teacher for all bodies. The teacher training starts in April and I am beyond excited. In keeping with my intentions for 2017, I have decided to brand my practice “Sassypants Yoga”. Which is perfect for me in soooo many ways! Classes start in April and will be complete in December. This time next year I will be teaching yoga.
My dream is to lead hiking/trail running/yoga retreats! I would also love to teach runners and lifters how yoga can enhance their athletic prowess and aid in recovery. Yoga has certainly helped me improve. My squat depth is due to the increased hip mobility that I have gained through my yoga practice!
In the meantime, I will be branching out from my usual classes to experience other forms of yoga. Today I will trying Buti yoga for the first time. I’m looking forward to it!! Buti yoga combines power yoga with tribal dance and primal movement. Buti yoga was created by Bizzie Gold and offers cardio and body sculpting. She states is your chance to “sweat with intention”.
